Global Youth Ambassador speaks at WISE Summit 2014 in Doha, Qatar

During 4-6 November 2014 , Qatar Foundation host its 5th World Innovation Summit for Education - WISE in Doha, Qatar and attended by more than 1500 delegates from multi-sectoral base, which gathers individuals from all fields of the public and private sectors, who together harness their expertise in order to share solutions to the challenges facing education today and tomorrow.

The WISE Summit aims to explore groundbreaking innovations and take concrete steps to make significant improvements to worldwide education. 

The annual World Innovation Summit for Education is the premier international platform dedicated to innovation and creative action in education where top decision-makers share insights with on-the-ground practitioners and collaborate to rethink education.

Two of our Global Youth Ambassadors got an opportunity to take part in the summit and represent the #UpForSchool Campaign, where Our Ambassador from Yemen Mr. Sadam Al-Adwar has organized a Meet-Up Session during the summit with our Ambassador from Pakistan Mr. Qasir Rafiq .

The meet-up Session took part for 45 minutes at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) in the Majlis area, during Summit hours on the 5th of November and attended by 20 participants in the summit .

The participants in the meet up session addressed the right of children to go to school, as 58 million children are not in school.  and the role of young people in How can we get 58 million children to schools before the end of 2015 .

The discussion leaded by Sadam Al-Adwar , and at the End Mr. Qasir Rafiq read the #UpForSchool Petition in front all of them and invite them to sign it .

There was great interaction between the participants, who came from different countries to share their Ideas and give their potential solutions to improving education and to get 58 million children into schools and learning .

We also talked about A World At School, Millennium Development Goal 2 and what we do. we then told them about the #UpForSchool Petition. The support we received was enormous.

Even after we finished the discussion, some Participants had started asking me more information about our roles as Ambassadors and how can they get part and take actions with us and expressed support for A World at School.

The meet-up session attended by Dr. Justin W. Fleet , the Chief of Staff at the United Nation Special Envoy for Global Education office .
It was a pleasure for all of us to have him with us and hear from him about their work and efforts to achieve the goal of getting more than 58 million children into school before 2015.

اختتام أعمال مؤتمر القمة العالمية للابتكار في التعليم ( وايز ) في الدوحة بمشاركة شباب يمنيين

 

أُختتمت يوم أمس الخميس 6 نوفمبر 2014، أعمال مؤتمر القمة العالمية للإبتكار في التعليم ( وايز ) في المركز الوطني للمؤتمرات بحضـور رئيسة مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع الشيخة موزا بنت ناصر ، والتي استمرت لمدة 3 أيام وحملت عنوان " تخيل - أُخلق - تعلم - الابداع في قلب التعليم ) 

.

حضر القمة أكثر من ألف مشارك، ونحو 100 إعلامي، شددت الشيخة موزا في كلمة الافتتاح على التحديات الكثيرة التي تنتظر تحقيق عملية التعليم والتنمية في المنطقة ، ولفتت إلى أن زعماء العالم جددوا في منتصف أيلول (سبتمبر) من العام الماضي ، في الأمم المتحدة، تعهدهم أن يحصل جميع أطفال العالم على التعليم الابتدائي مع حلول 2015، الأمر الذي يتطلب جهداً دولياً شاملاً ، حيث لا يزال أكثر من 58 مليون طفل خارج المدارس .

وأشارت إلى أن مؤتمر وايز ليس مناسبة طارئة للاجتماع بل تجمّع لتتويج عمل على مدار السنة في مجال الابداع والابتكار في التعليم .

 

حيث تعتبر قمة وايز حدث سنوي مبادرة أطلقتها سمو الشيخة موزا بنت ناصر في العام 2009 والتي اصبحت تقليد وحدث سنوي يجمع أكثر من 1500 مشارك ومشاركة من الجهات ذات العلاقة بالابتكار والتعليم والتكنولوجيا .

يأتي إختتام المؤتمر هذا العام بنسخته السادسة والذي تم من خلالها منح جائزة وايز وقدرها 500,000 دولار أمريكي إلى السيد أنا كوتن ، مؤسس ورئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة "كامفيد "، وهي مبادرة عملت على مدار العشرون عاماً الماضية على تعليم وإلحاق الفتيات في المدارس في عدد من المناطق والدول الافريقة مثل زيمبابوي و...... وغيرها .

هذا ويندرج ضمن أعمال القمة مشروع مصغر يحمل عنوان " صوت الشباب المتعلمين " والذي بدء العمل فيه من العام 2011 باختيار حوالي 30 شاب وشابة من مختلف دول العالم كل عام للحضور للقمة والاستفادة من مخرجاتها بالإضافة الى بدء برنامج تدريبي حول التعليم على مدار السنة يتضمن جلسات تدريبية في العاصمة القطرية قطر والعاصمة الاسبانية مدريد بالإضافة الى زيارات ميدانية ومشاركات في مؤتمرات ومحافل دولية من قبل المتعلمين الشباب خلال عام واحد .

 

وحضر القمة مشاركين من أكثر من 80 دولة حول العالم بما فيها اليمن والتي مثلها الشابين معتز علوي ، و صدام علي الادور ، حيث استطاع الشاب معتز علوي من اجتياز وانجاز مهامه التدريبية والعملية مع فريق خلال العام الماضي واستطاعوا ان يعرضوا مشروعهم التعليمي في قمة وايز بنسختها السادسة هذا العام والذي تمثل في إدراج الطابعات ثلاثية الابعاد والتي نالت إعجاب وقبول الجميع .

هذا وسيتابع الناشط الشبابي / صدام الادور نشاطه ومشاركته في البرنامج خلال العام 2015 للعمل على تصميم وصياغة مشروع ابتكاري في التعليم وعرضه في قمة وايز بنسختها السابعة في بداية نوفمبر من العام القادم .

يشار إلى أن المؤتمر يعد واحدا من أهم المنتديات العالمية التي تتناول الابتكار في التعليم، فهو يجمع حوالي 1000 شخصية من ممارسين وأصحاب القرار وقادة الفكر من قطاعات مختلفة بالإضافة إلى مشاركة أكثر من مائة بلد. ويبحث مؤتمر القمة (وايز) كل عام في التحديات التعليمية الراهنة.

دعونا نحن الشباب والمعلمين والاباء والأمهات والمواطنيين نرسل رسالتنا إلى الحكومة
والسياسيين وصناع القرار في ‫#‏اليمن‬ ونناشدهم للحفاظ على وعودها التي قطعتها على نفسها في الأمم المتحدة عام 2000 لضمان أن جميع الأطفال خارج النظام الدراسي ينالون حقهم في الحصول على التعليم قبل نهاية 2015.

"Tunza Eco-generation" Environmental Networking Platform for Children and Youth

Introduction  :

 

Tunza Eco- generation is an Initiative social networking platform between UNEP and Samsung Engineering aims to raise awareness and commitment toward the conservation of the environment from the Tunza members.

It is designed to facilitate the exchange of information including best practices between members both nationally and internationally be an interactive and vibrant site presenting various possibilities to engage youth, children and sport organizations from various portals (webpage's with dynamic functions where children and youth are able to upload/update their environmental activities which will then go live online after it has been cleared by an administrator of the platform, possibility of working on documents and editing of the same can take place online; various tutorials between experts and young people; voting functions/processes on various competitions, databases for various children, youth and sport processes).

My Journey with Tunza ECO-Generation :

 

My Journey  started in last July when I read that UNEP and Samsung Engineering provide children and youth with the beautiful social networking platform where children and youth are able to upload/update their environmental activities which goes live online after it has been cleared by the administrator of the platform.

So I find a call for application for the 13th Eco-Generation Ambassador , where I applied to be one of them and I am lucky to get selected as one of the Ambassadors to Yemen for the first time .

Then Since August 2014, I joined this global platform and I started working, learning and interacting with other Ambassadors and member in the platform about different Issues related to the Environment such as Climate change , Green life , Biodiversity, Sustainable consumption and Recycling .

Through this platform we started working together to strengthen young people’s environmental awareness and engage children and youth in environmental issues worldwide.

The word “TUNZA” means “to treat with care or affection” in Kiswahili (a sub-regional language of Eastern Africa).

The overall TUNZA Concept is built around this theme. It is an initiative that is meant to develop activities in the areas of capacity building, environmental awareness, and information exchange, with a vision to foster a generation of environmentally conscious citizens, capable of positive action.

My  Journey continue where I have Upload my articles and reports about different issues and activates related to environment , I also got an Opportunity to have a friend from all over the world and learn from their experiences and have a knowledge about the environmental issues they are facing in their communities.

Tunza Eco-Generationplatform didn't not only improve my skills and knowledge related to my Environmental activities and Interest, it also helps me a lot to develop the capacity of my leadership skills and to support me personally and my Organization goals as well as it will increase my role in the community activities .

Tunza Eco -Generation Team :

 Since the first day of our Involvement, the Team behind this platform are available always near to us, answering our Inquires, guiding us in our work and responsibilities in the platform.

Not only they provide us with logistics information and guidelines, they also provide us with all the resources, materials and support we need to make an event in our communities .

They provide us with goods and materials that made it easy to us to plan and organize any event related to environmental issues .

They also didn't forget to honor and thanks us for the achievement we did, they always send us their thanks and honors throughout their souvenir box of gifts and certificates via their monthly events and quarter competitions .

Finally, through my 3 month experience with them, many things in my life has been changed. I started applying all the concepts and principles we learn in my daily life and share my experiences with other In addition to transfer a successful experience I have seen from other countries and apply them in my country as we all going on the same path and have one mission that is " to be a change agents  in shaping and determining the world we live in "

I am glad to be part of it and I am sure within the coming days we still have to work hard to achieve the goals and mission we take responsibility of it .
